The Yugioh bandwagon!!!

There is a small group of yugioh players who think outside of the box. Today I will speak on their behalf. They are upset that mainstream yugioh players use the same type of cards in their deck called "Staples". Staples are the most necessary and most universal yugioh cards that can go into any deck. I am not here to discuss the staples but to say that we can use other cards besides staples. Let me change that to a question. Can we use other cards besides staples? I believe so, but many people mind sets are focused on just winning and following the bandwagon. That will never go away.

  1. Honestly, the best way to look at this is to examine people's goals in the game. Some people play yugioh to win tournaments, and some play for fun. Someone shouldn't be mad at another player for using a competitive deck in a tournament when he is not. People who play for fun should realize that they probably won't win tournaments. That doesn't mean you can't have fun duels with your friends, it just means you can't have fun duels when playing competitively. Don't get me wrong, playing competitively can be fun, too. People should see it more like a difference of format.

  2. I think that using a couple of cards as staples in every deck is a good thing. The huge problem with today's meta however isn't as much that staples are being used, as it is that there are too many staples. In today's game, half, to three quarters of a deck can be considered staples. Hell, it would be possible to make an entire deck out of staples. And everyone has different cards that they consider staples. If people would realize that some cards aren't really needed in every deck, I think the staple problem with creativity would be fixed.
